Tridon Workshop Essentials — Toledo, Sykes-Pickavant, Rennsteig and Matson, October–November 2026

Tridon’s Workshop Essentials flyer runs from 1 October to 30 November 2026. It covers twelve pages of workshop and service tools across Toledo, Sykes-Pickavant, Rennsteig, Matson and Tridon’s own clamping range: pullers, punches, battery chargers and jump packs, measuring tools, and the specialist service tools that turn a two-hour job into a twenty-minute one.

Breaking Seized Fasteners Loose

Loosening and tightening are two different jobs, and they need two different tools. Toledo specify their click-type torque wrenches for tightening right-hand threads only. A torque wrench is a measuring instrument, not a lever.

For loosening, the Toledo 301822 Breaker Bar is $139.26 ($160.15 incl. GST). It’s a 1000mm, 3/4″ drive extra heavy-duty bar with a 180° rotating head. Turning force is your push multiplied by the handle length, so a metre of bar does a lot of work for you. For tightening back to spec, the Toledo 301349 3/4″ drive torque wrench is $253.80 ($291.87 incl. GST), with a 68–406Nm scale and ±4% accuracy.

When even the bar won’t shift a rusted nut, split it. The Toledo 301076 Nut Splitter Set is $40.98 ($47.13 incl. GST). It covers 3–25mm and takes the nut off without damaging the stud or bolt underneath.

Where there’s no room to swing a long bar, a torque multiplier does the job through gearing instead. A 3:1 multiplier turns your input into roughly three times the output. The Toledo 321009 Torque Multiplier Kit is $674.43 ($775.60 incl. GST): 3:1 planetary gearing, rated to 1500Nm. For heavy plant and truck work, Sykes-Pickavant’s 5:1 multipliers are $2,900 each, in 130–1300Nm with a 1/2″ input (800600) and 270–2700Nm with a 3/4″ input (800655). Both are made in England and supplied in a carry case.

Battery Charging, Testing and Jump Starting — Matson

Matson’s battery range covers charging, testing and starting across 12V and 24V systems. That matters in any workshop that sees trucks, tractors or plant alongside cars.

The MA61224 Multi-Voltage Battery Charger is $435 ($500.25 incl. GST). It charges at 6, 12 or 24V, is lithium compatible at 12 and 24V, and doubles as a 12/24V power supply. Testing comes before charging, though: a battery that won’t hold charge just needs replacing. The BT400 Digital Battery and System Tester is $198.85 ($228.68 incl. GST). It checks starting batteries, cranking and charging systems, and internal resistance, with results in about two seconds. The BT900 is $498 ($572.70 incl. GST) and adds a printer, so the customer gets the test report in hand.

Four jump starters, sized by job:

• MA35000 12/24V Lithium Jump Starter — $598 ($687.70 incl. GST). 600A at 12V, 1200A peak, and a 35,000mAh battery that also charges portable devices.
• RA3800 12/24V Roadside Assist Jump Starter — $1,185 ($1,362.75 incl. GST). Drop-resistant case, built-in voltmeter, rechargeable from 240V AC or 12V DC.
• MA8000 Thunderbolt Jump Pack — $1,998 ($2,297.70 incl. GST). 2000CCA at 12V and 1000CCA at 24V, on a trolley with 50mm² leads and brass-contact industrial clamps.
• Antizap jumper leads from $56.29 ($64.74 incl. GST). Three sizes, MASS100AZ, MA354AZ ($274.98) and MA506AZ ($399), all with Matson’s surge protection against the voltage spikes that damage vehicle electronics during a jump start.

Punches, Chisels and Crowbars — Rennsteig

Rennsteig is German-made, and every punch and chisel in this flyer is produced in Germany. The difference between punch types matters. A taper punch starts a tight pin moving. A parallel pin punch follows it through, because its constant diameter doesn’t wedge in the hole the way a taper does.

• 424142 Taper Punch Set with Handguards, 5pc — $92.00 ($105.80 incl. GST). The soft handguard protects your hand from miss-hits.
• 425170 Parallel Pin Punch Set, 6pc — $71.31 ($82.00 incl. GST), in a plastic stand.
• Dual-Edged Screw Extractor Sets — $62.55 for the 3pc M5–M12 set (471903), $145.18 for the 5pc M3–M18 set (471906). They work on left- and right-hand threads.
• Crowbars from $128.06. 30mm forged shafts in 1000mm and 1500mm lengths, with claw, curved or straight edges. The 1.5m straight-edge ball-tip bar is $277.46.

Pullers, Separators and Bearing Work

A puller grabs behind a component and draws it off a shaft. A bearing separator goes further: its tapered edges fit behind a bearing where puller legs can’t get a grip. Getting this right is the difference between a clean removal and a damaged shaft.

From Sykes-Pickavant:

• 193100 Hydraulic Separator Kit — $590 ($678.50 incl. GST). 876mm reach for bearings deep on long shafts, 20–105mm spread.
• 095300 Bearing Separator, 50–175mm — $950 ($1,092.50 incl. GST).
• 095802 Internal Extractor Kit, 13–30mm — $563.18 ($647.66 incl. GST). For bearings and oil seals where a conventional puller can’t reach.
• 080400 Ball Joint Splitter — $109.34 ($125.74 incl. GST). Separates suspension and steering ball joints without damage.

From Toledo:

• Twin and Triple Leg Mechanical Puller Sets, interchangeable between two and three legs: 224030 (1 tonne, 75mm reach) at $76.72, and 224060 (5 tonne, 150mm reach) at $168.91.

Workshop Hand Tools — Toledo

Vices and clamps. Fixed-base bench vices in grey cast iron: 301863 (150mm straight) at $341.40, 301869 (150mm offset) at $588.11, and 301870 (200mm offset, 43kg) at $1,150. The 301872 150mm ductile iron G-clamp is $33.34.

Pliers and grips.

• Circlip pliers from $29.98. Internal circlips sit in a bore and external circlips sit on a shaft, so the plier has to match. They come in straight and 90° tips up to 230mm. Ratchet-lock circlip plier sets are $128.91 (301800, 18pc) and $276.05 (301850, 14pc, for circlips up to 165mm).
• Lock-grip pliers. Curved jaw VG180 at $14.14 and VG250 at $15.71. The 301980 sheet metal lock-grip is $32.28.
• Fencing pliers. The HP10 Parrot Beak Fencing Plier is $33.63: two wire cutters, a parrot lever, hammer, swager and crimper. The FP10 Combination Fencing Plier, with a wider 0–52mm jaw, is $28.45.
• Crimping. CT16 Ratcheting Crimping Plier at $142.65, for 1–16mm² terminals. WS665 Crimper, Cutter and Stripper at $51.18.

Keys and wrenches.

• Folding hex key sets, metric or imperial, at $26.06. Folding Torx set, T9–T40, at $29.98.
• Ratchet podgers from $66.17. The tapered end lines up bolt holes, and the ratchet end does the tightening.
• 301483 SAE Fixed Head Ratchet Wrench Set, 13/16″–1″, at $122.17.

Threads. 321075 HSS Thread Restoring Tap and Die Set, metric 20pc, at $446.00. 321050 Tap and Die Ratchet Handle Master Set, 75pc, at $340.32. For old British threads, the Sykes-Pickavant 015600 BSW/BSF Thread Restorer is $66.12. It’s a file that cleans up damaged threads where a die won’t fit.

Cooling. A pressure test finds the leak that a visual check misses. The 308500 Cooling System Pressure Tester and Vacuum Purge Kit is $782.20 ($899.53 incl. GST). When an off-the-shelf hose clip won’t reach, Tridon Uniband is 301 stainless band on a 30m reel, cut to length on the job. It handles large hoses, pipes, tanks, power poles and pallet bundling, in four widths from 9.5mm to 19mm, from $69.45 ($79.86 incl. GST). The CT1 Banding Tool tensions the band and cuts it off in one operation, at $137.02 ($157.57 incl. GST).
