Wallace Heron’s Partnership with CRC – Built to Last

CRC Summer Road Trip — 1 October to 30 November 2026
Buy any CRC product from us between 1 October and 30 November and you can enter CRC’s Summer Road Trip draw. Three Z Service Station fuel cards are up for grabs: $2,000, $1,500 and $1,000.
Entry is handled by CRC, not by us. Buy your CRC, then enter online at crc.co.nz — there’s a QR code on the poster at our counter that takes you straight there. Full terms and conditions are on CRC’s site.
Which can do you actually need?
CRC make a lot of cans that look alike and do different things. The classic workshop mistake is reaching for a water-displacing spray as a lubricant, or expecting a rust converter to take rust off. Pick the job below and we’ll tell you which one it is.
Which can do you actually need?
Pick the job — we’ll tell you which CRC product it is.
Dry out wet electrics, tools or an engine after washdown or rain
CRC 5-56 Multi Purpose Lubricant – 400ml
This is the job 5-56 is actually for — it displaces water and creeps into seized parts. It’s not a lasting lubricant, so once the part is dry and free, follow up with the right lube below.

CRC Evapo-Rust Spray Gel
Dissolves rust without acid and won’t touch the sound metal underneath — the gel clings, so it works on vertical panels.

CRC Rust Converter 425g Aerosol
Turns light surface rust into a black, paintable primer. It converts what’s left — it doesn’t remove heavy scale.

CRC Metal Armour 350g Aerosol
85% zinc in the dry film — the zinc corrodes in place of your steel, which is why it outlasts plain primer outdoors.

CRC Exoff Degreaser & Parts Cleaner – 750ml
Nothing bonds to grease. Strip the oil and grime off first, or whatever you put on top comes straight back off.

CRC Copper Anti Seize Spray – 400ml
Copper-loaded coating that sprays on and stays put through extreme heat — so the exhaust studs come off next time too.

CRC Cutting Oil Spray – 400ml
Cools and lubricates the cutting edge, so taps and bits keep their temper instead of burning out mid-hole.

CRC 66 Marine Aerosol – 400ml
Displaces water and leaves a barrier film that stands up to salt spray — made for gear that lives on or near the sea.
View product6006Lubricate where oil would just attract grit
CRC Dry-Glide – 150g
A dry PTFE film that lubricates without the oily residue dust and grit stick to — tracks, slides and guides stay clean.
View product3040Seal a leaking exhaust joint
CRC Exhaust Maniseal – 145g
A sealant that cures with exhaust heat and is rated for it — ordinary gasket goo just burns out of the joint.
View product5061Get a cold or stubborn engine to fire
CRC Engine Start – 400ml
High-volatility starting fluid that fires when fuel won’t atomise. A short burst into the intake — not a habit.

Rust, in the right order
Rust treatment is where most of the confusion sits, because three of these products sound like they do the same job. They don’t, and the order matters.
- Clean it. Nothing bonds to grease. Exoff strips oil and workshop grime off first.
- Take the rust off. Evapo-Rust removes rust without acid and without touching the sound metal underneath.
- Convert what’s left. Rust Converter turns light surface rust into a black primer you can paint. It doesn’t remove rust, and CRC don’t recommend it for heavy scale.
- Seal it with zinc. Metal Armour is a zinc-rich primer and sealer — 85% zinc in the dry film. The zinc corrodes in place of the steel underneath, which is why it outlasts a plain primer outdoors.
Skip a step or swap two around and the repair comes back.
Why we stock CRC
Aerosols and solvents are classified dangerous goods, which makes them awkward to freight and a nuisance to get in a hurry. That’s the practical case for buying them from a supplier who holds them on a shelf rather than ordering them in.
We’ve carried CRC for years across lubrication, rust treatment, cleaning and workshop chemicals. It’s the range our customers keep coming back for, and we hold depth in the lines that move.
Wallace Heron has traded in Pukekohe since 1957. We don’t just sell tools — we use them.
